BUYERS NOTES

A cheery marigold, with double, eye-catching blooms. A mass of bicolour maroon and yellow flowers cover the compact plants right through summer for a striking display in containers or at the front of the border. A nice decorative companion plant for the veg patch, too, drawing in hoverflies and other predatory insects to keep pest species under control.

Sowing Information:

Sow in spring at 21-24°C (70-75°F) in a good seed compost. Just cover the seed with compost and keep the soil damp but not wet. Germination usually takes 4-7 days.

Growing Information:

When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant and grow in cooler conditions. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost, 30cm (12in) apart in a sunny spot.
