BUYERS NOTES
Also known as the Maggi Plant. The leafstalks and stem bases can be blanched and eaten as a substitute for celery. Chop the young leaves into salads, soups, omelettes, stews and casseroles. The seeds are often used to flavour soups, breads and biscuits.
Sowing Information:
Sow seed thinly, 13mm (1/2in) deep in drills 30cm(12in) apart in a well prepared seedbed in full sun or partial shade.
Growing Information:
Transplant seedlings to 45cm (18in) apart. Keep well watered.
