BUYERS NOTES
New, colourful salad leaf innovation to add a sharp but pleasant taste and texture to mixed salads, when eaten young. Blood Veined Sorrel also makes an attractive 'dot' plant in the flower border. Ideal used in soups and sauces. Blood Veined Sorrel is a Hardy Perennial but grown as an Annual. Flavour guide: Sharp but pleasant.
Sowing Information:
For salad leaves sow seeds March-May outdoors. Sow seeds thinly 13mm (¬Ωin) deep in drills 30cm (12in) apart in soil that has been raked to a fine tilth.
Growing Information:
Thin plants to 7.5cm (3in) apart once big enough to handle. Thin once more allowing up to 25cm (1in) spacing for full size plants.
Aftercare Information:
Harvest young leaves as required, picking only a few from each plant.
